Help us to help others

Bali Insight Tours supports several non-profit organizations whom help and / or take care of the underprivileged in Bali – particularly the children.

If you are interested in visiting and / or supporting one or more of these places & meeting the wonderful people who run them & the smiling, happy children, we can add this to another tour or we can tailor a special tour for you. Bali Insight Tours set aside a small percentage from every tour fee to donate to one of these organizations.

Here are some of the organizations we currently support. We hope to add more to the list soon.

* ‘Seeds of Hope’ – Christian Children’s Home. (just north of Kuta).

Providing a home & education for children who are orphans, poor or deserted.

* ‘Yayasan Bumi Sehat’ – Health Mother Earth Foundation. (Ubud).

Provides free pre-natal & post-natal care, birth services etc. to impoverished women in Indonesia.

* ‘Bali Cares Shop’. (Ubud).

This is a co-op store which sells items that support local community based projects.

* ‘SOS Children’s Village’. (Tabanan).

Caring for orphan & neglected children in a family environment.

* ‘Helen Flavel Foundation’. (Singaraga – far north Bali).

Organises sponsorship & schooling for children living in extremely poor farming areas of Singaraja.

We can also arrange for you to visit a local school & meet the staff & children.

For more information on these & other non-profit organizations in Bali,

please contact them via our 'links' page or e-mail us.

Shop 'till you drop!

One of the many reasons people come to Bali is for the bargain shopping.

Why not get most of your shopping done in one day? We’ve put together a list of great places to shop, so now all you have to do is decide which of these you’d like to go to, (or any other places you know of),  & we’ll take you on a shopping day to remember! Including a lunch stop if required.

*MATAHARI department stores (Kuta & Denpasar) are a great place to get bargains on everything from shoes, clothes, underwear, books, toys, big name cosmetics to manchester & more!

They also have a great range of handicrafts, souvenirs & a huge supermarket. All fixed price.

*GENEVA HANDICRAFT CENTRE in Seminyak is massive! It has more than 2500 items of all types of handicrafts from Bali, Java & Lombok. Prices are fixed, but are the cheapest around!

*BRAND NAME SURF / SPORTS GEAR - Kuta Square is the place to go for these. There are many modern shops, all fixed price. Look out for specials & great sales.

*JEWELLERY – Take a drive to Celuk & visit one or more quality gold & silver shops. Here you also get to see the silversmiths at work. No fixed prices, so bargain well!

*WOOD CARVINGS – Mas is the town to head for to buy quality woodcarvings. You can even watch the woodcarvers at work. Again, you’ll need to bargain for a good price.

*ART / PAINTINGS – Ubud is the place to go for the greatest variety of styles - everything from traditional to very modern, large & small. Again, you’ll have to bargain for the best price.

*TRADITIONAL MARKET SHOPPING – Ubud market is great! There you’ll find a bit of everything! Naturally, you’ll need to bargain hard here too. Tanah Lot market is good too.

*SOMETHING DIFFERENT – Wander down the main street in Seminyak & find many new shops, some with unique giftware & clothing. Many have fixed price, but some require bargaining.

*SHOPPING CENTRE – For a ‘western-world-style’ shopping centre, the ‘Discovery Shopping Mall’ in Kuta is big, new & very modern. It has a wide variety of shops & nice places to eat.

Tour prices vary, depending on group size & tour duration etc.
